A church plant in the Joliet, Illinois area
“The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want”
Psalm 23:1
-
As Christians, we are commissioned to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to make disciples of the nations. As a church plant, we do that primarily by Christ-centered expository preaching in our worship services and through personal evangelism.
-
Acts 2:42 says the disciples “devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.” Part of the church’s DNA is being actively involved in each other’s lives, encouraging one another in the truth of God’s Word, and spending intentional time in intentional fellowship and prayer.

As believers and as a church plant, it is of great importance that we know what we believe and why we believe it. We believe that the Scriptures are the inspired, inerrant, authoritative, and sufficient Word of God, but what do we believe the Bible teaches? For our statement of faith, we are adopting the London Baptist Confession of 1689 as a faithful summary of biblical faith and practice, firmly rooting us in historic, orthodox Christianity and especially the Reformed Baptist tradition.
As of May 12th, 2024, we are meeting in the building of Westview Baptist Church on the corner of Black and Rollingwood in Shorewood. We have use of the sanctuary and nursery, and this space is handicap accessible. If you are interested in what you should expect during worship, click here.
